When You’ve Tried Everything — But Still Feel Stuck

You’ve probably been in therapy before — maybe even with a great therapist. You’ve read the self-help books, journaled, practiced grounding skills, tried to set boundaries… and yet, something still feels stuck.

You might say things like:

“I understand why I am the way I am — but I still feel the same.”
“I’m tired of talking about my trauma — I just want it to stop running my life.”
“I can’t keep pretending I’m fine when I’m falling apart inside.”

The worst part? You know there’s more to life than just getting by — but you can’t seem to get there. You’re emotionally exhausted from holding everything together for everyone else, while silently carrying the weight of old pain that won’t fully let go.

Maybe you’ve reached your tipping point — a breakup, burnout, another panic spiral, or that one comment that cracked something open inside you. You’re done circling the same patterns of people-pleasing, anxiety, and self-doubt. You’re ready for something different — something that actually helps you move forward.

Therapy intensives are often the next step when weekly sessions aren’t enough. They give you the space to go deeper, process what’s been stuck for years, and finally start to feel lighter, freer, and more you.

What Are Therapy Intensives?

Therapy intensives are a focused, deeper approach to healing — designed for people who’ve already done the work but still feel stuck.

Instead of spreading therapy out week by week, intensives give you dedicated time — a few hours or a few days — to slow down, process, and move through what’s been keeping you stuck.

Using powerful methods like Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and EMDR, intensives help your brain and body release painful memories, ease emotional triggers, and create lasting relief.

They’re ideal if you want faster progress, deeper healing, and a calm space to reconnect with yourself.

Think of it as pressing pause on the world so you can focus fully on you — your healing, your growth, and your peace.

How Does an Intensive Work?

Therapy intensives give you focused time and support to create lasting change. Each one is personalized to your goals and pace, combining structure with flexibility so you feel grounded and supported every step of the way.

Here’s what the process looks like:

1. Free Consultation
A 20-minute call to explore your goals, answer questions, and see if an intensive is the right fit.

2. Custom Workbook
Receive a personalized workbook with reflections and exercises to help you prepare and set clear goals.

3. Goal Setting Session
A 90-minute planning session to review your history, identify focus areas, and create a customized treatment plan.

4. Intensive Session(s)
Focused 3-hour sessions held virtually (in IL or NC) or in person near Raleigh. Deep, uninterrupted healing time designed for real progress.

5. Reflection Session
A final session to process insights, review progress, and plan next steps for ongoing growth and integration.

Therapy intensives give you the space to pause, process, and heal — creating the kind of change that weekly sessions often can’t reach.

What You Can Expect After an Intensive

Most people who come to me for an intensive have already done a lot of personal work — but still feel like something hasn’t fully shifted. After an intensive, they often describe feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected to themselves in a way they hadn’t before.

Here are some of the biggest changes clients notice:

  • Fewer anxiety spirals and racing thoughts — finally feeling calmer and more in control of your mind.

  • A greater sense of safety and ease in your body — instead of living in constant tension or survival mode.

  • More confidence setting boundaries and saying what you need — without guilt or second-guessing.

  • Deeper, more authentic connections with others — showing up as your full, unmasked self.

  • Lasting relief from old trauma triggers and emotional pain — creating space for clarity, peace, and self-trust.

FAQs About Intensives

    • Therapy Intensives are more effective and efficient than standard 60-minute  talk therapy sessions. Typically in a 60-minute session, there are at least 5-10 minutes of “check-in” at the start of the session and usually, 5-10 minutes spent on “closing up” or “checking out” at the end of a session - Leaving only 30-40 minutes for deep therapeutic work. Therapy Intensives are different. A 3-hour Therapy Intensive allows for 2.5 hours of depth work. That’s the equivalent of five 60-minute sessions or more than a month of therapy - in a single day!

  • Therapy Intensives are perfect for:

    • People who want relief right away.

    • Busy people who can’t fit weekly sessions into their schedule but still want the full benefits of therapy.

    • People who have tried regular talk therapy but still feel stuck.

    • People dealing with anxiety who need extra time to work through their experiences.

    • CUSTOM THERAPY INTENSIVE WORKBOOK, full of activities and assessments to prepare you for your intensive and track your progress, designed just for you!

    • PRE GOAL SETTING SESSION to identify areas you are wanting to target during your intensive.

    • CUSTOM ART/EMDR INTENSIVE THERAPY SESSION(S) customized to fit your schedule and needs, 3 hours of intensive therapy, over the course of 1 day or multiple days.

    • POST REFLECTION SESSION to discuss next steps and reflect on areas of insight, relief, and transformation.

    • Intensives are an investment in your overall wellbeing—and they often cost less than traditional therapy in the long run. In just a single 3-hour intensive, you can achieve what might take months of weekly sessions. At $180 per session, that can add up fast.

Choosing an intensive doesn’t just save you money; it saves time, too. This approach focuses on concentrated, purposeful time dedicated to the deep work that brings real change to your daily life. Intensive packages start at $990 and go up from there depending on amount of time needed for your intensive.

  • Therapy Intensives are not covered by insurance. However, if you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may reimburse a portion of the Therapy Intensive. It’s best to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card to learn the details about your specific plan. Make sure to ask questions like: Do I have a deductible for out-of-network services? Have I met my deductible? What CPT billing codes do you reimburse (i.e. 90837 or two 90843 in one day)? What is the rate of reimbursement for each billing code? What is the allowable amount for reimbursement?

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time you book your Therapy Intensive. The remaining 50% is due on the first day of the Intensive Session.

  • Great question! This depends on your goals for the Therapy Intensive. Some goals can be reached in a 1 Day 3-hour Intensive, but other goals are more complex and may require multiple days. I can help you determine the number of days that would work best for your therapy goals.

  • Absolutely! Therapy Intensives work very well as an adjunct therapy. I would ask that you sign a Release of Information so that your current therapist and I can collaborate/coordinate to best serve you.
